If you like your luxury combined with some spooky thrills, here are 10 places you should definitely consider visiting.
The luxurious Omni Shoreham Hotel is one of D.C.’s most haunted hotels. In the 1900s, a young girl and a maid both died of mysterious causes in one suite. Some guests report bizarre noises coming from the floor where they passed away.
Since 1851, the Marshall House was used once as a wartime hospital and twice as a hospital during the yellow fever epidemics. Guests have reported faucets turning on by themselves and ghost sightings in the hallways.
The original property of La Fonda on the Plaza was a courthouse where criminals were hanged. Today, many guests have reported seeing ghosts of Wild West criminals in the main dining room and the third floor restaurant.
The beautiful Emily Morgan Hotel in San Antonio, Texas, was near the site of the deadly Battle of the Alamo. Guests have reported mysterious occurrences throughout the hotel, including a woman in white wandering the halls.
The historic Pfister Hotel opened in Milwaukee in 1893 and is supposedly home to a number of spooky sightings. Several MLB players have reported personal ghost experiences in the hotel. The hotel is currently open for guests who are looking to hunt for ghosts this season.
The ghost of Harvey Parker, the founder of Boston’s Omni Parker House, is rumored to roam the halls, checking on guests. Others report that the spirit of Charles Dickens lingers on the third floor. This historic hotel recently reopened for thrill-seeking guests.
Ghosts have been caught on film visiting the Myrtles Plantation, including a “ghost girl” seen through a window. Some rumors claim that the plantation was built on top of an ancient Indian burial ground, and is haunted by their spirits. The hotel organizes daily mystery tours for guests.
The RMS Queen Mary, docked in Long Beach, California, is known for paranormal hot spots. Guests have reported paranormal experiences in room B340, where a passenger passed away in 1948.
This historical Victorian-style hotel is known as “America’s most haunted hotel.” The hotel was taken over by Norman Baker in 1937, who turned the property into a hospital. The hotel offers ghost tours and features images of ghosts sightings at the resort on their website.
The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, was the inspiration for the Overlook Hotel in Stephen King’s novel “The Shining.” Guests can book the Ghost Adventure Package and stay on the spooky fourth floor, which is said to have high paranormal activity.
