My husband and I figured we had seen it all, done it all, and had become far too spoiled to appreciate the adventures of travel as we once had.<\/p>

We could not have been more wrong.<\/p>

My husband had family in Sicily, but never wanted to vacation there because he felt as if he had been there enough in his youth and had experienced it all.\u00a0<\/p>

After speaking with Alyson at Cloud 10, she had us convinced that she could show us a Sicily that Stefano had never seen.\u00a0<\/p>

Alyson and her team of Cloud 10 geniuses crafted a custom 10 day getaway that we are still talking about to this day. Each day was unique and more amazing than the one before. I could write for hours about our underground dinner in the caves at Don Serafino, or our day of sailing around the Bay of Siracusa, or our overnight stay at the Hotel Raya with its magnificent rooftop bar. Instead I am going to focus on just one day of our amazing journey which was my personal favorite:<\/p>

Our 7th day blended into the 8th as a late night of dancing turned into the early morning. Day 8 began on the island of Panarea with a leisurely breakfast and a brief walk down to the port.<\/p>

From there Stefano and I hopped on board our private yacht for a day of exploring the islands of Vulcano, Lipari and Salina. Each island had its own special charms and breathtaking views. Along the journey we would stop to swim, snorkel and relax in some of Sicily\u2019s most scenic coves, which were only accessible by sea.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

After working up an appetite on the water, we feasted on a variety of delicious local cheeses and meats before making our way to the island of Stromboli. This island has been referred to as \u201cthe lighthouse of the Mediterranean\u201d since the time of the ancient mariners.<\/p>

We were told of Stromboli’s active volcano, but we did not expect to see the epic show of lights like we experienced. Powerful flames exploded into the sky from the volcano, which has continuously erupted for nearly 2,000 years. We saved our visit to the volcano until late afternoon, when a local expert guided us to a viewing area near the base of the volcano where it was safe, and we could witness the shower of flames and lava in all of its power and glory.<\/p>

Afterward this ultimate “fireworks” display, our walk continued on the magical black sand beach of Piscita, where Alyson had organized our own private dinner of local wines and spectacular Sicilian cuisine.<\/p>

After dinner, we collapsed back at our hotel and imagined what wonders we would experience on the final few days remaining of our vacation.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
